CLACKMANNAN YOUTHS
SATURDAY 10 JANUARY 2009 IN THE DEVONPARK
The first Youth Tournament of 2009 saw 15 players attending.
SINGLES TOURNAMENT
The singles tournament results were as follows
Semi-final 1 Steven Rogers (Pirries ‘A’ beat David Clark (Pirries ‘B’) 2 - 1
Semi-final 2 Jason Bain (Devonpark ‘A’) beat Steven Dobbie (Clackmannan BC) 2 – 0
The final was won by Jason Bain who beat Steven Rogers 2 - 0
In the tournament there was 7 scores between 120 & 139, 5 140’s. Highest checkout’s went to Jason Bain with 118, Neil Paterson with the bull and David Clark with 90.
ROUND ROBIN LEAGUE
This saw the players playing three games of 5 legs, with all legs being played, as points were given for legs won.
Again this saw some high scores there were 27 x 120-39, 24 x 140+’s Steve Dobbie (Clackmannan BC) hit the first 180 of the tournament. Jamie Robb, Jason Bain and Steven Rogers (2) all had 19 dart games, Jason and Steven also had a 21 darts game each. The highest checkout of the tournament went to Jamie Robb and Jason Bain both with a 92.
The player this month who has shot up the table from 10 place last month with 5 points to second place with 21 and only 3 point of the leader, is young Greg Menzie from Clackmannan BC.
The next game is Saturday 7 February 2009 in Devonpark 12.30pm for 13.00.
