SATURDAY 4 APRIL 2009 IN THE DEVONPARK
There was 10 players who attended this week.
SINGLES TOURNAMENT
The singles tournament results were as follows
Semi-final 1 Jamie Robb (Devonpark ‘A’ beat Laurence Winters (Peppes ‘B’) 2 - 0
Semi-final 2 Andrew McLean (Pirries ‘B’ beat Jason Bain (Devonpark ‘A’) 2 - 0
The final was won by Jamie Robb who beat Andrew McLean 3 – 1
In the tournament there was 5 scores between 120 & 139, 7 140’s. with Steven Dobbie scoring the only 180 of the tournament. Jamie Robb had a 18 and 19 darts game.
ROUND ROBIN LEAGUE
This was the last day of the Round Robin Tournament, which ended up with a tie for first place. According to the rules there was a play-off between Jamie Robb and Steven Rodgers. It was a well fought out game with Steven just piping Jamie 3 games to 2, but well done to both of them.
The presentations will be made on Friday 3 May at the League Presentation night. Well done to all the youths who turned up every month. I enjoyed watching how they all progressed and how well behaved they were.
As they all seemed to enjoy it that much I am holding tournaments throughout the summer. It will be a singles knockout tournament with points given for how far you progress. I had set a date for Saturday 16 May, but thanks to Jamie who pointed out that there is a Scottish U18 on that date, I will find another date and let you know through the web.
We finished the day with a blind doubles competition, of best of 3 501 double start (don’t think I was very popular as there was a lot of I hate this game type of thing being said). The eventual winner were Greg Manzies & Steven Dobbie (Clackmannan BC) who beat Wayne Cadger (Pirries ‘B’) and John Docherty (Red Lion).
